TV One is a global AV hardware manufacturer well established within the broadcast and systems integration markets.

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:

• To work as part of a small flexible embedded systems design team, primarily focused on High Definition video conversion systems based around our proprietary CORIO® technology.
• Primarily responsible for the design and completion of embedded software used to control our video products.
• Design of intuitive man machine interfaces based on common video applications, and focused on ease of operation for the users.
• Production of design concept documentation and continuous code documentation linked with peer reviews.
• Participation in design reviews, and to assist in ensuring that project targets with regard to cost and timelines are met.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A numerate degree with several years of hands-on electronic hardware experience and related hands-on programming experience.

EXPERIENCE/JOB KNOWLEDGE
Proven experience of embedded design using C and ideally several years experience in the video industry or a working knowledge of video systems and or editing.

Skills:

• Man Machine Interface design
• Multi-threading & Multi-tasking software design skills
• Fluent in C programming for embedded applications
• Knowledge & Experience of ARM processors (ARM7/9)
• Comfortable with hardware debugging and a good understanding of schematics
• Knowledge of TCP, UDP, DHCP, Multicast Internet Protocols
• Knowledge of Video Processing desirable
• Experience of 32 Bit Micro processors in embedded product design

Experience of complete design cycle from concept to qualification and production release, including test and product qualification. Awareness of quality standards associated with software design.
Ability to work solo or in small teams to create creative solutions for controlling video products.
Ability to discuss ideas and develop solutions with other members of the R&D team.
